This was my first time of the basics with you Adriene and I loved all the extra cues and commentary around the poses and the use of the sacred “namaste”. I so admire your mindfulness and reverence of this beautiful practice. Thank you for all that you do and share with us 🙏🏻💗🌟🌸

<p>i've been so sore lately and these beginner practices are giving my body what i need. i used to definitely treat yoga too much like working out (not that it isn't a work out), i chose faster paced, more advanced practices, i bent myself into poses and focused more on the amount of minutes i was on the mat doing yoga than on the mental reflections i had on the mat. through my past 4 year using this channel i've definitely listened to my body, learned to chill more, sometimes i'm in the mood for abs or being fast paced or doing new poses. but not today and i don't feed into the toxic thoughts that say i'm lazy or an under achiever. i look forward to my practice and feel like i have much more fruitful insights now</p>

I am pretty sure this is the video on YouTube that planted the seed that yoga was my path to healing myself mind and body a couple years ago. I had many setbacks along the way, but now I am about six months into a daily practice. I was really concerned (and still very mindful) about hurting myself because the poses seemed impossible. Adriene is the best at those verbal cues; gives me pause to slow down, pay attention. The micro adjustments really pay off!
