Join me as we learn and practice one of the most well-known kriyas in the Kundalini Yoga tradition. It is said this kriya, or action, is one of the most powerful exercises as it works on all levels of your being/conscious.

NO Kundalini experience, or chanting experience required. Jump in, breathe, open your mind, and explore something new!

A kriya is a series of postures, breath, and sound that works toward a specific outcome. For this particular kriya, it is one posture that holds its own.

Practicing a kriya initiates a sequence of physical and mental changes that can affect the body, mind, and spirit simultaneously.

In this session, we practice the chant “SAT NAM” (which sounds like Sutt Numm) with a mudra up overhead for 3 minutes and 3 minutes of rest to follow.

This exercise stimulates and balances your natural flow of energy, and massages the internal organs. In this tradition, this practice is done to purify your being, encouraging a detox of anything negative in your system.

Other benefits of Sat Kriya include:

- Improved digestion

- Toning of the nervous system

- Strengthens the heart

- Strengthens the sexual system and stimulates its natural energy

- Can be an aide for mental problems, as it helps to rebalance the lower three chakras

Three minutes is a solid goal, and widely practiced daily by Kundalini yogis. Just do your best! You can build up the time of the kriya to be longer - even to 30 minutes. Just remember to rest after for as long as you chant! (Or double the time, when time allows.) Deep relaxation after this chanting practice is key for activating the parasympathetic nervous system which allow your body's systems time to reconstitute and regenerate.

Let me know if you have any questions and/or how this goes for you in the comment tab below.

If you like this practice check out my Kundalini Meditation Sa Ta Na Ma here: https://fwfg.com/programs/kundalini-meditation_sa-ta-na-ma-kriya

EDIT: The resource links I put up earlier were unsuitable, no good, and have been removed. I will look for more better and more suitable resources! In the meantime, I recommend a google search if you are curious about why Kundalini yogis wear white.

Love,

Adriene
