Axial extension is the active lengthening of your spine, creating space between the vertebrae to straighten and lengthen the spine. You’ll begin with floor work to warm up the spine, then practice some subtle strength-building exercises. Use an imaginary overhead bar to help find balance in high lunge, and lift and lengthen in chair pose. Axial extension is an action that is learned and is crucial to all yoga poses. </span></p><br><p style="line-height: 1.38"><span style="font-size: 11pt; ">You will need a blanket, two blocks, and a chair for this practice.</span></p></div>
