Join me in the FWFG kitchen as we learn to make one of my favorite feel good treats with one of my favorite people. I’ve asked my dear friend Michelle to come in and teach us how to make this fun treat to boost energy and morale! To me, it’s like a healthy Reese's peanut butter cup! Perfect as a pick-me-up snack, or to share with your family and friends.

Sweets for the sweet.

Enjoy!

Michelle’s Balls, A Feel Good Treat, Recipe:

1 cup of nut butter (peanut, almond or cashew butter works great!)

4 tablespoons flax meal (can sub almond meal)

2 tablespoons chia seeds

2 tablespoons honey (can sub maple syrup)

1 cup dark chocolate chips

1 tablespoon coconut oil

Mix the first 4 ingredients together in a medium bowl. It should start to form a ball. If it’s too soft, add more flax meal. If it’s too dry, add more honey. Pop the bowl in the refrigerator while you melt the chocolate.

Add the coconut oil to the chocolate in a double boiler or a microwave safe bowl. Melt together, stirring frequently, until fully melted.

Form the refrigerated mixture into balls about 1 1/2 inches in diameter and dip into the chocolate. Place them on a silicon mat or parchment lined cutting board. Once all the balls are made, place them back into the refrigerator for about 30 minutes to chill.

I’m not a fan of food labelled “clean” - what food is “dirty”? Maybe a phrase like nutritious and delicious feels less stigmatising.

Apart from that I loved the video - great fun and the balls (of whatever shape or size) do sound delightful!

Ah. As somebody with a bad peanut allergy, I didn’t get past the first 60 seconds. Not for me, I’m afraid.

I'll be trying these! Hope I can use a different oil. Maybe canola? I've been advised to avoid coconut oil.

Oh wow. Just made these and I wish I could upload a photo. Suffice to say something went haywire with the chocolate melting and now I’m finding Adriene’s experience very reassuring 🤣🤣 However! Making them was fun and im excited to try them. Love the video, thank you!

That video was such fun - thank you! I'm def. going to give this recipe a try. Looks like flax = linseed, for anyone else in Europe 🙃 1 cup of peanut butter = 250g. 1 cup of chocolate chips = 170g. Just wondering if there's anything I can sub for the coconut oil (or if it is totally necessary?) as I usually cook with olive oil, so I'm not sure the coconut oil would be used.

Thank you for sharing :) this was a fun time! Personally, I'd make them with date syrup (just blended half dates half water), but I really appreciate that you do already give an alternative to honey :)

Did anyone else back this up to watch Adriene’s bun move with her eyebrows (6:26)? Definitely looking forward to trying this and think it will make a few appearances through the holiday season!
