What I love about at-home yoga is the chance to tend to both your physical body and the emotional body. Through the lens of yoga, the emotional body is seen as an important, yet impermanent, layer of our being. Yoga offers us the tools to process and work with our emotions, rather than suppressing or denying them. Just as ocean waves come and go. When tended to with breath, movement, and awareness, it becomes a doorway to deeper self-understanding rather than an obstacle.

In today’s practice, you are given the opportunity to dance with all that comes up for you. What would happen if you held yourself, like a dear friend? What if you allowed yourself to sit with what is, without judgment?

I am reminded of an affirmation my Mom would say to me growing up:

allow, release, let go.

Perhaps we can hold this in our hearts as we share this practice together?

Let me know how it goes for you in the comments below.

For more videos like this, check out:

Yoga for Hips & Lower Back Release: https://fwfg.com/programs/hips-and-lower-back-release

Yoga for Tension Relief: https://fwfg.com/programs/yoga-for-tension-relief

Nervous System Regulate: https://fwfg.com/programs/15-minute-nervous-system-regulate

Healing Yoga Break: https://fwfg.com/programs/healing-yoga-break

This was just what I needed this morning. My husband passed away a little over two weeks ago. I am at the point now where everyone else has returned to normal life, and I am stuck in this deep hole of sadness, confusion, and emptiness. He was only 52 and it happened rather suddenly. And I’m trying to maintain some bit of strength for my children, but I am really struggling. The chakra series was perfect timing for me, as was this gem I was so happy to find this morning. Yoga has been my safe place to process and grieve and accept myself where I am. Thank you from the bottom of my broken heart, Adriene , for giving me something to anchor me at a time when I feel so lost.

I miss the silliness. One of the things that drew me to YWA was your quirkiness and ability to guide us through a practice incorporating all the things that bubbled up in your mind as you went along. I felt like we were friends practicing in my living room together.

Don't get me wrong, I enjoyed this practice and pretty much everything you release, but I noticed over the past year or so, that quirkiness, the jokes, and the laughter make it into the videos less and less. I miss it. I hope to see it again sometime. ❤️

I forgot which side my legs were on in Gomukasana there at the end and was wondering how Adriene expected us to grab the right toes with the left hand and vice versa, lol. 😝

Ember. October 2. 1824 days.

Wow, just realized tomorrow will make five years straight. I cannot believe it.

Thank you for this practice. I love it, and it really helps me find my center and ease any anxiousness that I might be experiencing.

Also, could you please share where you found your yogi figurine on the table? It’s lovely.

I like these slower practices. They make me reflect on what I am doing with my body. And what my body can or cannot do! Cow legs it can't do! But it's a practice so I try...
