The comment I saw on this practice was mine of 4 years ago. I still can't do crow! I suspect at 73 I may never be able to do it. But what a great practice this is! Really requires strength and focus. I loved it!

A great practice but I still can't do crow, despite having worked through the crow video. I think the battle is in my head not my balance or strength. I don't believe I can do it and so can't! Not sure how to get over that. Any ideas???

Is it that your arms have to be strong in crow? My legs seem to slip off my arms because my leggings feel slippery. I feel like I could do it with a bit of help, lol 😅

I had such a hard time with this practice today. I have done it several times over the years, and I'm so discouraged to see certain things being more of a challenge today. I have been practicing very minimally for the last three months due to life changes, and I can really tell the difference. During crow practice, I just sat and cried. I think a self care meditation is needed right now. If anyone else is struggling, I'm sending virtual hugs. Tomorrow is another day!

Tips for Crow!

PUT THE YOGA BLOCK IN FRONT! This not only gives you something to focus on so your head is lifted as you lean forward, but also tells your scared brain that you won't faceplant; your head will rest on the block. There have been times where I did fall/rest on to the block, but I zipped up my abs and pushed myself off.

To prevent slipping, skin on skin won't work if you're too sweaty, so wipe off first. If you wear leggings, make sure they aren't slick ones. Wear ones with a lot of cotton.

Get those knees way up into the armpits. You may have bruises for a while until your body adapts, especially if you're a bit on the bigger side (I'm 190lbs and I have gotten bruises).

Arm balances do require arm strength, but interestingly, a lot more core strength than we may think. And we're stronger on the core than we think, even those of us with squishy bellies! So...spread the fingers, position the knees as high as possible, engage the core, lean forward, and FLY!

Due to the bone structure of my arms, I will never be able to do crow. I can't even have palms on the earth in tabletop. I always just use the time for crow to work on a different bird - pigeon. My absolute favorite asana. It worked perfectly as a last active asana, cooling my body and slowing my breath and I transitioned into extended childs pose to end the practice.

Loved this one today. Felt 💪🏼 and at peace. I’m not sure how helpful my favorites list is as every class makes it to my list 😂! This is another favorite 💕

I get anxious too when I see the duration of a practice goes over 30 minutes. I like what Tina just wrote that I/you are worth this time. I’ll keep that in mind!
