Meet me on the mat for a yoga practice designed to gently guide you to the present moment and out of rumination. Overthinking - many of us have been here. There are many reasons one may end up in a pattern of overthinking. It can be hard to function when this occurs and it can be a result of many things going on in our life, as well as living in an overstimulated world. This practice is here for you when you are experiencing racing thoughts, mental worry, or decision fatigue. For those days when you need to clear the mental clutter and come back to the power of now. It’s not just what we do on the mat, but how present we are with what we are feeling- noticing and acknowledging the thoughts that arise and letting them fall away with every intentional breath. Let’s embody stillness together as we move through a grounding flow to soothe an overactive mind.

Please share this one with a friend. Let me know how it goes for you in the comments.

Much love!

Reading the other comments I agree, how do you seem to know what I need? I too slept badly last night. Menopausal overthinking resulting in a sore tummy of anxiety about ailing elderly parents, relationship with my lovely husband, not having enough time or energy to nurture close friendships, or indeed the headspace to take in other peoples problems…. Which sounds so self centred or is it just self care, self preservation? See over thinking! Ha! This practice was lovely, just the right amount of slow then fiery, feeling more balanced now. Thank you!😍🙏🙏

I awoke at 4:00 AM, my mind was racing, things of the past, present, sadness, loneliness, pressures, disappointment - you name it I was thinking it. Finally just got up, wrote in my journal and decided to do yoga, in the dark, and here this was today. Blessings on you Adriene, such a reflection. Thank you.

Thank you for this practice. Somehow you always seem to know what is needed!

On a technical note, and for one who is not particularly tech savvy - I didn’t want to move to stop the video and did want to extend my savassana - is there a way to turn off auto play of next video?

After a poor night's sleep when I was worrying about everything and nothing this was a great practice for me. Really enjoyed it. And I'm in a much better head space now! Thanks Adriene.

Perfect for this Floridian today. We’ve made preparations and feel safe in our home. But wow, it’s easy to get immersed in watching the forecasts. Today I will focus on being peaceful and calm on the inside. Thank you Adriene! 🙏🥰🌀

There have been so many times where a YWA was the perfect practice that I needed, but I think this one takes first place in finding me when I needed it most. Social anxiety and an evening out had me in my head for hours overthinking every interaction. It almost brought me to tears seeing this new practice today after a rough night mentally. Thank you Adriene for always helping me find my breath, and my way back home. 💜

Good gracious, I continue to be impressed by and grateful for the way Adriene weaves coaching thoughts and offerings throughout the practice. There is clearly such intentionality in this sequence as I've come to expect and be truly grateful for. You are a teacher in so many ways. Thank you.

Lovely! Perfect timing too! As I didn’t get the chance to practice earlier this morning. Just got back from a 9 mi. walk and extensive get-together…I was looking to settle down for some fun on the mat. To shake things up a bit. And this was a lovely surprise when I opened the app! Thanks for releasing this video today Team! I love the mindful pacing of this session. I love anchoring my mind on the breath to make for a truly immersive experience on the mat. It’s like time stood still and everything just recedes in the background (out of the picture) and the only thing that matter is that very moment with you adeptly cueing me …I was all there! I don’t recall everything that happened :) but I feel so yummy after this! Time flew by in this session! It was a beautiful experience. I thought I’d be sweating, instead I felt so held as you nudged me to take it slow :) mind the breath, listen to the internal feeds and build up from there! This was lovely! I won’t spoil it for everyone’s enjoyment. Thank you very much Adriene for finding the time and energy to craft another beautiful experience on the mat. I admire how you never seem to ran out of ways to surprise us. I enjoyed this practice from beginning to end. This gave me what I needed to listen to my internal feeds, do an extensive body scan and be amazed at how committing to Liz’s PSo5 has improved and further enhanced my yoga bicycles even more! Oh! I love how I felt in pigeon pose here! It’s better than when upper body is relaxed, first time I ever did it that way, thanks Adriene! It felt so nice especially when I focused on my extended leg and how that traveled up to my hips and expanded all the way up my side body and created space between each vertebrae and grew taller in the spine all the way to the crown. This is a great takeaway! And the “easy” bridge :) Another layer of shifting perspectives! Finding freedom within the form or framework :) be creative, don’t just settle, stay engaged in the process, learn and grow! Awesome! All that from the mat! And some new approaches and moves :) to keep my mind engaged in the process in ways that connected with breath and body. This has been a beautiful day and this practice is the cherry on top! I take it that this is what you mean by Rekindling that which matters most to us (and how to achieve that)! I am all for it! Peace, Light and Love to everyone in this community! May we all live with and be at ease with what is. May we continue to practice with fervor and love each day. Be well. Thrive. We are a community. Come to practice. 🩷🧡💛💚🩵💙💜 10/05/24
