Tyler has struck me as an incredibly kind person while also extremely intentional, direct and confident with his voice. This inspires me and excites me - as when you practice with him in these sessions you feel both safe and seen, all the while feeling super encouraged to have fun and try on something new. (Check out his first offering, Yoga For Desk Jobs!)

Tyler took his first yoga class while studying at Texas State University in San Marcos, Texas. He felt intimidated and completely lost, but he also recognized the positive effects yoga had on his mental health and became a student for life. Tyler discovered Practice Yoga Austin in 2015 and quickly found a home in the community.

In 2020, Tyler received his 200-hour certification under the direction of Laura Joy and Marnie Castor. Tyler loves teaching students how to practice in an accessible, sustainable way. A teacher once said, “We don’t come here to be good at yoga.” This is how Tyler structures his classes. It is important to him that all students feel welcome, especially if they are new to yoga and feeling as intimidated as he once did!

Off the mat, you can find Tyler biking around Lady Bird Lake, jamming to 80s music, or buying too many houseplants.
