In this session, we will focus on releasing tension in the lower body, calming the mind for conscious rest, and improved sleep. We will use gentle and therapeutic movement and breath techniques to recalibrate fatigue, as well as release tightness in the low back, hips, and legs. Release the tasks of the day, invite calm, and embrace the gift of conscious rest.

I recommend that you wear comfortable clothes and bring 2 blankets or towels and a pillow to this practice.

Invite your inner world to REST.

I didn’t enjoy this practice, personally. It wasn’t relaxing, especially the extremely long sitting at the beginning. Those movements made my arms extremely tired, as they were already sore from a workout in the afternoon so i wasn’t happy to go up and down with my hands (and now my upper back is incredibly tense). No good forward folds (just Pashimottanasana), no lateral stretche, just one good shoulder release (puppy pose). Also, there’s too much talking which is kinda frustrating for a night time routine. I stopped it before the end because i was getting frustrated. Nu-uh

Restless night here too. Much fighting with my mom. Shit coming up from the past. A messed up past. I need Adriene to tell me to breathe and to release. To remind me to trust and see the good things in life. To just move, breathe, let go, be still. And then hopefully a good nights sleep. And again a new day to start afresh, again and again, even after many days in a row with the same shit, every day aiming for a fresh start. I am strong. I am capable. I can do this. Good night lovelies. Love you.

Came to this series as I navigate a restless night with much on my mind. As a member of the sandwich generation, I just launched my youngest off to join my oldest at college, while I support my mother as she supports my father with a progressive diagnosis. Today we learned my mom may have a significantly life changing diagnosis, and my mind is reeling and my heart is heavy.

Rolled out of bed, rolled out my mat and found this series. Adriene's words are exactly what I needed to hear. "...emotions may bubble up here. Use that exhale to release. And use that inhale to breathe lots of love in. Tell your body and brain that you are safe. You are supported..." So much feels heavy right now, and yet I am so very appreciative for Adriene, her teachings and this community. Thank you. 💗

This practice put me right to sleep on my yoga mat! I woke up an hour later very confused. This was perfect before bedtime, just wish i would’ve made it to bed first lol

I come back to these practices over and over, especially on days when I feel drained. Instead of a nap that will throw off my sleep that evening, I take the time for this conscious rest. I can shift back into my day, refreshed for what's left of it. So, so good.
