It’s okay to have fun! High fives all around for this Day 5 session that may begin to reveal the shifts in state that one can feel when you show up for regular consistent practice. Little by little we have honored the body and tapped into our unique beautiful energies while holding regard for our connection to each other. This session offers the opportunity to build strength through poses like forearm plank, and to surrender in poses like heart to earth pose.

This therapeutic practice is 19 minutes and is a hug for body and soul. Drop me a line in the comments, I want to know you are here!

Love,

Adriene

Hi Adriene, Benji, YWA/FWFG team, and Yoga Family..... As per the love letter request for 1)where we're practicing from, and 2) how we're doing:

1) I'm practicing in Suffolk, in the UK.

2) To be honest, I'm not doing that great at the moment, but, I am finding PRANA to be really helpful πŸ’•πŸ«‚πŸ’ž. My Mum was very sick with cancer last year, and she passed away last November (2024). Over this period, I wasn't able to practice the self-care that I really needed, to keep on top of my (hidden) disabilities, both physical, and mental-emotional. Had I been facing the '30 days of yoga' - that I have so loved participating in for the last 9 years plus - I perhaps would have found it quite overwhelming; And so, having a 7-Day commitment feels way more achievable, for where I am right now in my life. That said, I do feel as though being able to practice consistently for 7 days - or maybe πŸ˜‰ eight with the bonus that Adriene has hinted at - could be exactly what I need to be able to go back to a daily practice πŸ€”πŸ§‘πŸ½πŸ™πŸ½. It's my 49th birthday on Tuesday (7th Jan) and I think we might finish the 7 days on my birthday? That said, as the classes are hitting a day early in the UK - I think this is linked to the classes being released so that those living in Australia, and similar time zones , can practice for their morning - I may even be completing the bonus class on my birthdayπŸ₯³πŸŽ‰πŸŽŠ, and that should feel pretty epicπŸ€ΈπŸ½πŸ‹πŸ½πŸ€ΎπŸ½!

Over the last few days my daughter and I have struggled with the weather and atmospherics triggering our fibromyalgia and chronic pain, and struggling with the darkness and dampness of this time of year, and it's effect on our mental health and emotions. We've been feeling the loss of my Mum in a way that's led to more tears 😭😒πŸ˜ͺ than we've shed up until now...

...So to sum it up, I'm not really feeling that great at the moment, BUT, this little yoga Journey feels like a lifeline, A light in the darkness, A helping hand, A warm hug. So that is overwhelmingly positive 🌟

Sending love and light out to all, and hoping that 2025 is kind to all of us. Namaste πŸ§‘πŸ½πŸ™πŸ½πŸ’žβœ¨πŸ•―οΈβœ¨πŸŒ±πŸŒ³πŸ’”β€οΈβ€πŸ©ΉπŸ’πŸ’–

In a cheap hotel room in Stratford Upon Avon, UK, that overlooks a snow-slushy carpark. Squished between a radiator and the end of the bed. And still this was amazing. Loving reading all the comments from around the world about the beautiful places we are practicing but this morning for me is a good reminder that r beautiful places are inside as well as outside πŸ˜ŠπŸ’š.

Hi everyone! Long time follower, first time commenter. I love this community ❀️. I’m 31 and have been doing YWA for 4 years off and on but recently (7 months ago) started my daily practice. I have a VERY high stress job and I find that daily practice helps me shift out of my fight or flight mode. Unfortunately I was recently diagnosed with arthritis and have a pretty serious plantar fasciitis and ankle issue that will require surgery. I find myself pushing in poses to get more stretch in that area by also causing more pain. I guess I’m just trying to say I’m so scared that this injury will affect my ability to practice and I’m feeling super nervous. Any tips for modifying regular poses with an ankle/foot issue would be much appreciated!

I'm here for this. Feels so good to begin the day this way. (In fact I've been doing it every morning for the last 5 years - following along with the calendar. I feel like "If Adriene prescribes it, then I'm doing it.")

Good morning from Aotearoa (New Zealand). I am loving this series; thank you so much Adriene. I am being intentional to do yoga every day for this month, and this was a beautiful practice to move my body, calm my mind, and still my soul, amidst the normal busyness of our Summer season. Thank you πŸ’›

I am in the snowy forests of Great Falls, Virginia and as the river bends I dance for peace and justice because a few miles away our beloved Washington, DC prepares for Inauguration Day.
