Have you noticed how you have been getting ready for practice? What are the little things you do in order to mentally and physically land on the mat?

Light a candle. Pour a glass of water. Close the blinds. Or open them.

We have made it to day 20. Whether you did it in 20 days or more, there are ten more practices left in this series. And the last ten days are my absolute favorite.

Today we are embracing and celebrating the intention behind showing up and the intention behind your movement, and how powerful that can be.

A little goes a long way, don’t forget.

Follow the sound of your breath and nurture your brain and body. I love that others, like me, try to anticipate the intensity of a practice based on Adriene’s clothes and hair!

By daily YWA practice for years I‘ve learned to guess how intense the practice will be just by checking how Adriene‘s hair is done. I expected to be today more chilled than it actually was, since her hair was loose (which usually means there will be no down dogs). I still got in to practice and found the softness I was looking for in the end.

Day 20 = first time ever to accomplish side planks and bonus I did it on both sides! My journey through Move has been inspiring, reminding me at age 47 it's never too late for change.

Today I walked through my house and let my heart and intuition gather what it wanted to bring to the mat today….a small selenite crystal tower, a palo santo and black cedar sented candle, a small bundle of sage, the shell of a large muscle, John O’ Donohue’s To Bless The Space Between Us. I sit. I breathe. I light the candle, I watch the flame. I breathe. I light the sage with the candle and place it to rest and smolder in the muscle shell. I breathe. I pick up the book, close my eyes and let my angles pick a page for me. I open my eyes…For The Interim Time. Just the words I needed to read today. I breathe. I breathe. I breathe. I hit play…Ritual. I move. I breathe.

I live for ritual and routine! I wake up very early so I have time to gently welcome the day. I feed my 4 furbabies then come to my office/yoga room. I turn on my scentsy warmer, get my peppermint essential oil, turn on the computer, and go to YWA. As soon as I get the day's video ready I am joined by my giant and oldest protective kitty Fozzie who does yoga with me every day. After the session, I record it in my planner and go get ready to teach kindergarten. Today was day 559 of consecutive YWA! : )

I've yet to figure out the dif between this site and the youtube channel. youtube has the ability to sort comments by latest and I'm in November working through Jan....not sure writing comments really is useful as I have lifetime ritual of journaling. So journaling in two places?? Does it matter if no one sees my response? Nope. Cause the observations are for me. sigh. Yet..... lizard brain-stem always ponders....is anybody out there? Peace....and better breath tomorrow. (new yoga mat smells...cough-sneeze-gasp.)

A friend and I have been on this journey together. I posted in our group chat "I should probably not let the outfit fool me." I was correct. She's now been adequately warned. Is the movement supposed to be a metaphor for getting to the core of things? Or that we should be climb the mountains? Am I looking for lessons where there aren't any? Feels like a lot of gym-class like core work is included in every day, apparently it's a trigger from grade school years. I did appreciate being given a moment to consider the rituals... morning coffee, yoga, shower, write, work... every.damn.day. Helps me get through it.

Loved this practice. I created a ritual when lockdown happened in 2020, so I am almost two years in. Wake up at 5:30, put my one cup of coffee on, go straight to my office/yoga room (I just wear my tshirt that I slept in don't judge lol). lower the blinds. I drink my coffee while I read some on the mat, and then do my daily Yoga with Adriene. When I don't have a wonderful series like this going, I use the monthly calendar. Weekends I do a couple and maybe throw in a stretching one. It is my favorite part of the day thanks to Adriene.

Beautiful practice! My ritual has recently been to wake up 6, take tumeric and turn on the kettle for later, practice yoga (but start adding candles), take 2 mins to enjoy the energy I am feeling. After that make the kids lunches (for school) and breakfast while sipping
