Day 6 is here, and it is a 30 Days Of Yoga tradition that on day 6 we focus on the core.

Core centric practices are great for toning muscles that support strong and optimal function (read - less back pain) and, let me just get this out of the way, you will be working all of your abs into a fine fiery burn.

But this type of work can also be really healing and centering.

Core work, similar to balancing postures, encourage you to take stock and embody the present moment as a way of creating sustainable strength and stamina.

While it can sometimes feel discouraging, it is most necessary that you take on the task of beginning where you are today. This is how we evolve, it’s how we learn to know ourselves better, and it is how we get stronger.

Notice what it feels like to be alive today.

Burn away that which no longer serves.

To get a full breakdown on Breath Of Fire, you may watch my tutorial here.

Let me know how it goes for you in the comment section down below!

My boat sank unfortunately. Simba drowned. Nevermind no toxicity thought. Way to show up.

I saw this practise and cringed 🤣🙈 but I did it, I showed up imperfectly, modified and came back to it, and feel good having given it a go 🙌🏼✨

The breath didn't go very well, but I'll exercise more on that. I just noted in my diary, that I felt better afterwards than during, because the whole time I wanted to give up. I even teared up. But I pulled through.

Me + Fat Belly = Modifications and breaks. All good. Some day I'll get there, but if not, I do what I can.

It's 6 September and I'm reflecting today before I even begin. I do not want to do this one today. It's Friday and this teacher/artist/dancer is tired and wants to do nothing but burrito blanket.... And? I'm showing up anyway. Every day. Do what you can and don't pick up the judge's gavel. TGIF!

I think the boat section should be saved for intermediate practice work. Really not many adaptations given. Doesnt have the same feel as previous 30 day practices.

My natural way is to breathe “in” when lifting.... ie/ when pushing up to plank or the ab leg lifts we did today. Is there something more important about breathing out as you lift. I am firching myself to do it your way, and, will continue— but just wonderingif I casn gan explainatuon as to why it needs to be that way.....?
