Happy August my darlings! Thank you with all my heart for being here and for sharing your practices with me. What an honor it is to know we are never practicing alone and to be supported by the feeling of togetherness and belonging. I love FWFG so much for this reason.

In this vlog I share where I am headed (like right after this vlog!) I also lean into the community theme of this month, offering what is on the page but also some thoughts and ideas for other avenues of entering into a month of manifesting. (Pro tip, let it come to you?)

I cherish this time together, so thank you for watching and for sharing your comments and conversation below.

See you on the mat!

Excerpt read from…

When Things Fall Apart
by Pema Chödrön

In life we think that the point is to pass the test or overcome the problem. The real truth is that things don’t really get solved. They come together for a time, then they fall back apart. Then they come together and fall apart again. It’s just like that.

Personal discovery and growth come from letting there be room for all this to happen: room for grief, for relief, for misery, for joy.

Suffering comes from wishing things were different. Misery is self-inflicted, when we are expecting the “idea” to overcome the “actual,” or needing things (or people, or places) to be different for us so we can then be happy.

Let the hard things in life break you. Let them affect you. Let them change you. Let those hard moments inform you. Let this pain be your teacher. The experiences of your life are trying to tell you something about yourself. Don’t cop out on that. Don’t run away and hide under your covers. Lean into it.

What is the lesson in the wind? What is the storm trying to tell you? What will you learn if you face it with courage? With full honesty and – lean into it.

Thank you, Adrienne. This month's excerpt couldn't have come at a better (and worse) time, and it hit me in the heart space rather hard. Yesterday I found out that a friend that had been missing since July 10th was found, but the outcome isn't good. She was manic depressive and she took her life that day, and now so many folks will have to learn how to live without her This month's excerpt talks specifically about meeting challenges, and we've been given just that. I hope we're strong enough for this one...

Can we please not do law of attraction. People with cancer and other terrible shit didn’t just not manifest well enough. This “law” is victim blaming and gross.

Today is my first day as a member, YAY! I've been following the YT channel since COVID and something today just pushed me to join the membership. Watching this video brought me to tears, happy tears! About midway through I just started feeling this intense emotional connection to you, Adriene, and I hope some day to join an event in-person. Thank you for sharing your thoughts, feeling, insights and more. 143 - KJ

Thank you, Adriene. I teared up when you shared that poem by Pema Chödrön. I was just realizing that everything I have experienced and every version of myself I have been was only ever teaching me how to love myself on a deeper level and this makes me emotional. and I am finally at a place where I can embrace that and embrace myself in that. much love 💗

When I’ve been away from yoga for a bit, I find your vlogs help me get back into it. I’m interested to try some of the offerings with other teachers this month. The final reading made me really slow down and go inside myself. A mini meditation. A good reminder. A way forward.

Can’t wait for all the August goodies! This year has been a challenging one for sure, +, as you referenced, Adriene, promises to get even tougher here in the US in these coming months. So grateful to have this app + community to help me through it all. Thank you, Adriene + FWFG crüe. I love Pema Chödrön + it’s so nice to hear her words read through you. A good reminder that I really need to pick up & open my copy of When Things Fall Apart more. Namaste all 🙏💖🤩🙆🏻‍♀️🫶

Thanks Adriene! As I continue my practices, I love how much the practices continue with me off the mat. Respecting myself and those around me.

I was backpacking a few weeks ago in the Three Sisters. I kept tuning into my breath, engaging my deep core (LOVE those videos), tucking my pelvis and opening my heart.

I’m also going back to school! I’m going to grad school for school psychology this Fall. Good luck!!!

Happy August! Enjoy your time in the PNW (and here's hoping the temps drop a bit while you are here). I look forward to hearing more about your yoga therapy program... that sounds fascinating. And thanks for all the new videos this month; I can't wait to give them a try as the end of summer unfolds.
