Having an awareness and wisdom about hip practice only came to me much later on in my yoga journey. I am glad it did as it influences almost all my daily moves, including regular exercise and a sustainable daily asana practice. It’s my pleasure to welcome Marnie back for this healthy and happy hip practice. I hope you enjoy!

Yours,

Adriene

_______

Hip injuries are becoming all too common in yoga. Here is a powerful sequence designed to tone and strengthen the muscles that surround our hips so that we can practice healthy and sustainable externally rotated postures for a lifetime of yoga.

Love,

Marnie

Wow!! I did a little at home yoga retreat with several videos today and this was awesome to get some training and instruction to work on strength. Noticed real differences between sides and will be back to work on growing and evening out. Would love to find more like this in the archives!

I'm hypermobile and I've been doing yoga for 5 years. At the blessed age of 30 years old, I just recently started getting hip pain when I lay down to sleep at night. I'm now on a journey to strengthen my hips instead of just stretching them. This practice and Liz's Hip Strength pilates video have been great. When I do these in the morning, my hips don't hurt at night. Hoping that with repetition of these videos, I'll stop having hip pain at night altogether. Thank you so much Marnie!

When Marnie says it's going to be fun you know you're going to be shaking! Loved this.

I found it perfectly fine to do this practice without the equipment that Marnie mentiones. In case anyone wonders if it is essential - it’s not. Challenging and rewarding practice for the midsection and also arms. Marnie’s practices are so soothing and grounding even when they are challenging. 🙏

Sooooo good! My right hip has been tight for a few weeks, affecting my whole right side. This practice was the best to reach into the hip and loosen it up. Thank you!
