Besides the coal and oil industries, the animal industry is the biggest polluter. Depending on the animal species, the production of each kilo of meat requires between 5 and 30 kilos of feed and between 3,000 and 30,000 liters of water. As an example. The Netherlands, my little country, is the second largest animal products producer in the world. To feed all those animals, nature in South America has been destroyed. Soya (soy is the concentrate for livestock farming) arrives in our country in shiploads as large as oil tankers. The indigenous population in South America is being driven out for the production of this animal feed. Thousands of indigenous people have been murdered for opposing this. These are the human rights and climate problems that this industry causes. But don't forget the animals, everything they eat and drink also comes out. Methane is more than 30 times more harmful than CO2. Hundreds of millions of animals are slaughtered without asking them permission every year.

Just a little note to say how grateful I am for Adrienne's yoga in my life. I am back today after drifting away from my mat for over a month. Spending time with with my best friend or 55 years as she was nearing the end of her life took it's toll on me mentally & physically. Since her passing on March 11th, the grief along with a respiratory infection took me away from my mat. Coming back today to this grounding practice was like coming home. Thank you thank you thank you.😊❤️🙏

I often struggle with balance poses. I realize that consistent practice will help but I'm curious about mental or energetic tips. I have had days where tree came with more ease (today was not one of them) and assume I was simply feeling more grounded overall. Does anyone have a mantra or an energetic visual that helps you in balance poses that you would share here? Thanks!

Happy Earthday, here’s a book I’m reading, Braiding Sweetgrass by Robin Wall Kimmerer, you can learn about the Honorable Harvest,or The Thanksgiving Address, and generally how to connect with Mother Earth. Namaste

I always find the tree pose painful to the muscles on my inner thigh - like a bruising feeling. Is that because I am a wimp?

COP27. Indeed we have the whole world on our hands. Choose to tend to the inner-self to rekindle that inner light and be non-harming. Thank you for this grounding, centering and balancing practice. I have control over the choices I make. I choose to be empathetic and live with compassion. Thank you Adriene. Shed some much needed light in the darkest corners. Yoga is life. Namaste ❤️🧡💛💚💙💜

I feel so off balance these days, and this practice reminded me that it's physical and mental. I'm 61 and really want to work on this now, while I'm healthy. Has anyone progressed from being crap in the balancing poses to doing them with mindful ease/embodiment? And has this resulted in a more balanced mental state? Thanks for any insights❤️🌞❤️.

Thank you, Adriene!
