This is my 5th year of daily practice and 30 days January program and so far this one is not doing it for me. There's a lot of talking, and it's very slow. I'm hoping it picks up because i really love this new year ritual of community practice. I know the goal is to appeal to a very wide range of experience and abilities, which is a challenge. I'll stick with it this week and see where it goes.

I went from daily yoga to almost no yoga, so this is a great welcome back for me. I know that I am stiffer and slower and weaker than I was, but I can't wait to see where I am at the end of these 30 days. For anyone else feeling the same, you are not alone. ❤️

Thank you 🙏 Really love the continuity from yesterday, it has served to really help me enter a groove that I believe I can’t fall out of now…and knowing past benefits of seeing this through and continuing into daily practice beyond the 30 days I am filled with hope….and stepping off the mat I feel stronger and more balanced already. I notice that…. when I pause and breathe the ground holds me … when I gather all of myself onto the mat I am in good company within and beyond…to all of you …. I notice I am blessed 😊

Yesterday I was in so much pain (not from the yoga, but just my own ongoing issues) I couldn't imagine doing Day 2. I went easy on myself and rested a LOT. Thanks to some kind, supportive comments from other yogis, I was encouraged to give today a try. I used pillows and blocks and even took a few seconds break when it got to be too much. I made it through most of the video today and feel hopeful. With continued gentleness and patience with myself, who knows? Maybe I can get through 30 days and build my strength. P.S., I've been doing yoga with Adriene for maybe 5 years now, usually sticking to the gentle ones because of my degenerative spine disease. I don't know what I would do without the videos for back pain; they are truly my pain relief, my comfort, and my hope. Thanks so much, Adriene, and to all of you for being here.

Today was lovely. Today I noticed.

At some point in the last few months, I finally let go of the idea that using blocks somehow equates to me not being good enough. Now I use them regularly (specifically during the lunges in this practice) and I noticed that while laying in shavasana I felt like my practice was more fulfilling. Rather than being frustrated at what I can’t do today, I gave myself grace and I felt at peace.

Adrienne, all your practices are great and we thank you for doing that and doing it so well. This said, I am a left handed person and can't help noticing that many of the moves are not equally symmetrical. You almost always start on the "right" side which is normal given that the majority of the people are right handed but you often spend just a little less time on the left side as well. In a way it's a good challenge for us lefties since we need to spend a bit more time on the more difficult side... 🙃

What a lovely practice! I noticed how scattered and racing my thoughts are today. Moving meditation is a soft way to practice focus. :)
