In the second round of lifting one leg whilst in downdog Adrienne says to lift left leg high first. She actually lifts her right leg first. Doesn’t matter too much as it is an easy flow to do the opposite of but just thought I would mention it in case it confuses anyone

Today I am carrying so much anger towards some family members, and the invitation to welcome it is really hard. My feelings feel mean, and yet I know they're valid. If anyone has any tips on how to process anger and resentment I would really welcome them - the relatives concerned are my in-laws and so I can't express my anger towards them in the way that I might try with my own family.
This beautiful poem by Rumi really changed my life…

“This being human is a guest house.

Every morning a new arrival.

A joy, a depression, a meanness,

some momentary awareness comes

as an unexpected visitor.

Welcome and entertain them all!

Even if they’re a crowd of sorrows,

who violently sweep your house

empty of its furniture,

still, treat each guest honorably.

He may be clearing you out

for some new delight.

The dark thought, the shame, the malice,

meet them at the door laughing,

and invite them in.

Be grateful for whoever comes,

because each has been sent

as a guide from beyond.”

This practice truly moved me today; although in reality this whole series has done just that.

Right now I am navigating anticipatory grief, with a loved one's progressive diagnosis. Each day is focused on multiple tasks at hand and being present for my family, which often means tucking my emotions aside.

Rolling out my mat is the one time and place that it is simply me. Adriene's words today hung in the air and went right to my heart, "...Shifting attention to the breath is about acknowledging it all, versus escaping.." I find this series to be a space for me to do acknowledge how I am feeling in my body, my mind and my emotions.

I am filled with gratitude for the gift of Adriene's teachings, this series and this community. Thank you. Sending everyone so much love from my heart to yours. 💗

Does anyone else have a leg that will not "whoosh" forward on its own. Im talking about when in Downward Facing Dog..attempting to bring R or L leg forward into position for lunges/warriors, etc. I have to pick up my leg and manually bring it forward. Tips? Mechanics? Does Adrienne have a video providing some extra instruction on how to work towards this ability?

Somehow today I was ready and so... deeply moved by Rumi's words. They hit me right in my very core and brought tears. Thank you, Adriene, for sharing your words, thoughts and those of others. 🩷
