Build stability, core strength, and balance with this in-depth approach to Boat Pose (Navasana in Sanskrit)– a yoga posture that will challenge your deep core while encouraging you to find a sense of stillness and focus. We will begin by tuning into our breath, then warm up the muscles of the core, building upon that foundation towards a fully extended Boat Pose.

Through mind + body connection, every small shift can have a powerful impact on your practice. This yoga session is designed for you to integrate the full experience of navasana pose by preparing you with the fundamentals of yoga. This includes building endurance with helpful modifications, activating the hip flexors, firing up the abdominals with agni (your inner fire), strengthening the spine, and increasing your resilience with mindful breathing.

Grab a block if you have one, and let’s play!

Adriene, you should minimize the use of acronyms in the practice, it can isolate people who don’t know what they mean and it breaks down communication and understanding between parties!

I’m really going through some really rough times,

I run my own handyman service and the economy is so bad. I’m being forced to cut back in places that hurt. But it is what it is we’re not in control.

One of the things I feel I need to cut back on is my membership here with FWFG 😬😥,

I have been following Adriene for eight years now two years on YouTube and the last six years here with all of you and every time I listen to one of her monthly volgs or read one of her love letters it breaks my heart. 💜 I have to say goodbye.

I wrote down in my journal last night,

if a 5 ton boulder is rolling down a mountain at full speed and if i step in front of it thinking i can stop it think again, if I think I can change the world or people in it think again.

I love you All 🫶, I still have until the end of April,

Namaste 🙏

Please could someone clarify - in Extended child pose the point is that your ARMS are extended (?) Does it matter whether your Knees are apart or together? The point is the arms?? Thank you

Thank you for this one Adriene! I was a bit scared at the thought of 36 mins of boat pose but I’m going to be 50 this year and am determined to be braver.. and then it wasn’t 36 mins of boat 🤣 You are kind and gentle and for that I am eternally grateful!! Thank you for helping me to be brave 😊

One of the many reasons I love this site is that each practice invites us to return and grow. A year ago I would not have been able to complete this--and now that I can, I'm already thinking about how I can strengthen and hone this as the year(s) go on. Also, my abs are🕯️🔥🔥🕯️. Thank you, Adriene.

Love the title. And I was successfully floating at the end. I don’t like your long, kind explanation while doing core, though 😂 Just kidding. Thank you Adriene🙏

From someone who hates core especially boat… I was brave and did this practice. Verdict: in YWA style it was fun and all levels, loved the concept that we are ‘building our boat’, which I most definitely am. I will do this again for sure - it’s a challenge:) 💚🖤💜🩵❤️🧡🩷💙🩶🤍
