This 17-minute flexion-free Pilates session with Liz is gentle on the spine while providing a surprisingly effective core workout. This practice is perfect for those recovering from an injury or living with osteoporosis or osteopenia. You will work your deep abdominals, Transversus Abdominis (TVA), glutes, hamstrings, quadriceps, and spinal stabilizers, all without flexing or straining the spine.

You will need a block for this session.

LIz -- I am 60 years old and an avid lover of movement -- from mountain biking to yoga. I am finding that your Pilates practices consistently awakening pieces that have been left behind.

I love that this practice is great for the penia stage -- as I am not sure what I should be doing to address this aspect of aging (E.g. my doctor had no thoughts).

In terms of feedback on this video, I could use more instruction on making sure I am not activating unnecessary muscles. I am sure i will figure this out...but just not sure on the first time through I was totally doing it right.... specifically activating the core but not the back during the initial part of the video --- I think it was the section on warm up breathing to the first set or so of exercises --. I was fine on the block and through the remaining exercises.

thanks so much for helping our bodies age with agility and grace.

Laura

Synchronicities amuse me so much. Yesterday, I told myself i should do a core session without spinal flexion to work at another level … and here, liz, you deliver. I am beyond grateful 🥰😘
