Svadhisthana is an orange 6 petaled lotus residing near the sexual organs. It relates to Aversion & Attraction, or Polarity. A person abiding from this chakra will become a pleasure seeker. This chakra has the tendency to get a lot of folks on the yoga path in trouble, so we cover what it takes to avoid the pitfalls that can come from 'following your bliss.'

The crescent indicates the capacity for reflection, but only on a small scale. It corresponds esoterically to the individual ego that is hopefully on the waxing path to reflecting in a more comprehensive way and not on the waning path to being unconsciously dominated by instinctual appetites.

We'll do a hip activation in the end that evokes qualities of balance so that we can harmonize the polarities within us.

Blessings!

Love this so much. What i have trouble with sometimes is breathing deep (belly breaths) while activating my core…anyone have thoughts on this?

🌸Hi Rey and Adrienne! Wow, I just came across these chakra chats and I love them! I love learning the root of the inspiration causing the emotional reaction in me and the connection to nature. I am always deeply moved and enamored with trees especially this beautiful grand oak in my yard I named Magnificent. I literally speak to her. I'm looking forward to the other videos in your Chakra Chats. 🙏🏼 Thank you!

Thank-you Rey! I'm really enjoying your chakra chats. Your discussion on Tantric practice with moving the energy upward reminds me of Taoist Longevity practices (as taught/written about by Mantak Chia, etc). I also totally agree that there can be a tendency in energy/yoga practice in getting hung up on the second chakra and see it in some who practice Martial Arts where the focus is on Dan Tien (hara) aka Svadhisthana. One day perhaps we can chat about the direction of the Taoist microcosmic orbit. It travels in the "opposite" direction of the orbit used when doing yoga....I thought you might be interested in that. So much food for thought and contemplation.

This was really enlightening. I thought the sacral chakra was associated with the sacrum, not the sex organs, or pleasure -- duh! I don't understand how not having an orgasm can be transmuted into something on a higher plane. Not having any seed to spill, does one just "get to the peak" and then "hold it" and meditate, say mantras, etc. with transmutation in mind? Is the goal of working upward through the chakras bliss, connection with the universe, or ? This talk raised many questions. If you have time to answer, that would be great. It was a good talk.

This was very insightful!! Thank you Rey! On a lighter note, it was so hilarious when Rey said "boom!" and looked over beyond the camera😅 I think he was looking at Adriene saying "Was that too much??" No Rey! No worries! 😂😝❤️

Interesting Rey with some new insights for me. Isn't the sacral chakra connected with creation as well?

I do find that incorporating those hip actions you mentioned in my practice to be really helpful in elevating my experience of each pose, hold and flow as it does make for a really nice experience on the mat. I feel so gathered. And yes, I feel more connected to my True North as I practice with intention to embody each pose, flow, transition and feel the subtle sensations especially during the holds or stays - there’s that feeling of levity...one with the elements. I become more aware of the Push and Pull aspect in the physical practice (Aversion and Attraction) and it intuits me off the mat too, to manage Polarity and to maintain my equilibrium and keep my balanced state of being balanced. Thanks for the added depth you have provided, to make more sense of my practice and how those sensations and feelings come forth…it’s really Inspiring to dig deeper into what we share in this safe space. Thanks for everything! 💚 09/17/25
