So, let me start by saying that I absolutely love this community and the yoga offered here has gotten me through many ups and downs. For some reason though this particular video really frustrates me. Ive tried it twice and both times I stopped the video. For me tension, either physical or emotional, lands in the back, shoulders and neck. Starting this video sitting for more than 10 minutes is so painful and therefore not relief at all. Id suggest starting a tension relief video by stretching out areas that typically hold tension and then moving into breath work…by the time this video gets into anything, Im in so much pain and am so frustrated that I stop. This video should have a disclaimer that it starts with a long period of sitting (even with my hips raised, the pain in my back cannot sustain this length of sitting).

Thank you, I've had a strange day and have left it till late to do my practice today. Now I'm wondering why. Excellent grounding. I have a very stiff right hip, I've noticed over this past year it has got worse and just been today I have arthritis in it. I find it painful to sit cross legged, my left side is fine. I've discovered if I sit with my right leg slightly bent and further forward it is comfortable. Is there better way for me to sit? Maybe one where both sides are balanced? Or does it matter?

Honestly don’t do this if you have muscle tension and need relief. Go for something more active. This spends a really long time in seated just breathing. That’s fine. But if your muscles are aching for relief try something with more movement and twists.

This one is tough for me on hard days because of the references to the health impacts of stress and mortality at the end. My goal is to reach as much equanimity as I can when it comes to comments that don’t serve me, but as someone dealing with complex trauma, that’s the whole definition of what I’m face with at the moment, a body that gets stuck in past responses, so that’s okay that I’m not there yet and need this reminder for next time. I wonder if others feel seen from those comments that can become intrusive for me, hope so!

I am feeling terribly anxious about life this morning. I'm in a deep battle between trust and fear at this stage in my life. But then at the end of this video, with the collective breath and namaste I thought of this community and all the other anxious people doing this with me right now. Because I know there are so many of us. And it brought some relief :) Love to you all♥️

Reading the comments I think there’s almost a misunderstanding about this video. This is a slightly moving meditation. Which is great. If you want something more fiery, chose another practice. But I personally think that sometimes letting yourself be surprised by the pace of the video (either way) you chose randomly can be a good thing. Time on your yoga mat is NEVER wasted. Thank you Adriene for offering such a variety of practices. But most importantly your smile is always the beautiful link between them all. Namaste.
