This practice is a request for surfers but also designed to support anyone who wants to plug in to center, gently light up the core, ease pain, strengthen the back, and bring the body into balance.

It comes fully equipped with all encompassing metaphors for riding the wave, aligning with the flow, and getting up after a hard crash.

This was absolutely lovely and nourishing after some days of resting ❤️ These are always my favorite practices because it shows no matter who it was created for, it has the sacred and universal energy to be for all of us!

So glad I read the comments before skipping over this practice! I’m adding it to my favorites. A perfect blend of balance and stretching. Exactly what I needed after my walk this morning.

I love this practice! I have always wondered how surfers can be ever so patient. Biding their time. Looking out into the horizon, the endless stream of waves, sitting still amidst the vast ocean and the endless skyline. Focused. Catch a wave. And when they crash or get wiped out — then rise up, regroup, paddle oneself up to catch another wave. Hats off to surfers! And to everyone here learning and disciplined to keep at it. They and everyone here, inspire me to create the conditions to balance out whatever comes forth I can ride it out and time my resurgence, not to be reactive but find the connections within to push forth and emerge above the fray. A lovely gift Adriene and everyone at FWFG, teachers included. This practice is a great checking mechanism! I found something new in halfway lift, really focusing on the shoulders and chest area and back and gentle tuck and squeeze! I was able to grab my calves both times in half splits. Found something new in king pigeon. Nice approach to sphinx pose! Those wide knees position to thread the needle and the side body twists, epic! Delicious! Lovely locust pose! High lunge and great twist. This is a gem of a practice! Nice balancing practice in mountain pose. Not just for surfers but to those of us who want to create more space, expand in moments of uncertainty, an exercise in patience, nourishing a more confident inner voice - the “I am strong, I am enough, I’ve got this!” - mentality and overall connectivity. Delightful! Thanks Adriene! You make managing opposing forces and recognizing which waves we can conquer with aplomb intuits the whole being to be more discerning, be more aware, trust, accept, surrender, observe, be patient, listen, pay attention, expand, breathe, don’t be reactive and then rise up to catch/meet the wave and just be - find balance, there’s joy and lots of learning and growing in every situation, especially in moments of contractions. A blessing! Shifting the approach at every bend, every curve and using the lens that serve me best. Then others. Thanks Adriene, have a lovely time in Paris! May everyone feel love/d, seen, heard, held and lovingly tended to and supported. Practice. It keeps us strong! This is hope and love and kindness encapsulated in a yoga practice! Delightful! Be well everyone! Let’s all take good care. Flow. At ease. Trust, conquer fear of the unknown. Collectively, we’ve got this! Sending lots of good energies to everyone practicing, spread more kindness and love. 07/26/24 🩷🧡💛💚🩵💙💜

Enjoyed this! I was sort of expecting Dolphin with the surfers practice but it was awesome to visualize the ocean waves. Had time for the slightly longer practice since I'm WFH instead of commuting in. Double the pleasure! 💗🙏💗
