<p><em>Strong does not have to mean stressed.</em></p><p><br></p><p>Restore balance, cultivate equilibrium, and build strength. </p><p><br></p><p>Roll out the mat for this full session designed to help you explore the principles of Sthira & Sukha!</p><p><br></p><p>In the Yoga Sutras, one of the great foundational texts of yoga, Patanjali describes the physical practice of yoga in Sanskrit as “Sthira Sukham Asanam.” </p><p><br></p><p>Sthira Sukham Asanam: <em>Yoga should balance stability, strength and steadiness with gentleness, relaxation, and joy. </em></p><p><br></p><p>The word <strong>Sthira</strong> translates as strong, steady, stable, rooted and alert. </p><p><br></p><p>The word <strong>Sukha</strong> may translate as comfortable, happy, relaxed, softness, with ease.</p><p><br></p><p>These two principles are indeed opposites, but are important qualities to develop in both the practice of yoga and in our daily life. </p><p><br></p><p>Explore the principles of Sthira and Sukha as we work through a practice that invites attention to move inward, so that we can become more in touch with who we are, and more connected to our bodies.</p><p><br></p><p>This practice is great for those who want to get out of an anxious mental state and more into the physical body.
