I am on Day 3! I am brand new to yoga and to knowing you. When young, I was a farm girl who went to college on a lacrosse scholarship; ran 18 miles for the fun of it and won 13-mile races; played and taught tennis, led white water rafting trips and etc.'s galore. Now at 71, I live with multiple challenges, including recovery from a brain tumor, Crohn's, and other myriad etc.'s I am often bedridden and housebound. To MOVE I've needed to adapt the playback speed in settings to 0.75 and sometimes even 0.5. The poses are longer of course,(and wow do I shake;) but I am listening to my body and doing a child's pose when I tire. My movement has needed to be in the spiritual and psychological realm for decades. As a Quaker, the journey has included suffering transfigured to the glorious. I came to you because I recently heard your name mentioned in a trauma conference. My back was injured in an atrocious assault and battery; my spirit from early and sustained trauma. I risk sharing this because I imagine a large percentage of your participants also MOVE through these realms. Leaving me to wonder if there might be a series to support this nature of recovery What joy to feel my muscles again. A gleam of sweat. The cascade of creaks and crackles in a neck stretch. What joy to find community. More important than your profound mastery is the place your words come. My heart leaps and expands as I feel your kindness, sincerity, and authenticity. From t/here, you speak and do wonders. Exquisite wonders deep within. Deep to deep. The wonders of Mercy Truth Beauty Justice Thank you for your faithfulness to your Gift, and stewarding our embodied wellness. Blessings, Nancy

What an antidote this space is for the cynicism that’s crept into my life over the past few years of politics + pandemics. I signed up for Move because a friend was doing it, and I went into the first few days looking for that opportunity to roll my eyes, or spot your hypocrisy, or question your true motives. But you turned out to be the real deal, and my mat has turned into this separate space and time each day filled with honest joy that’s started following me off my mat, too. Where joy exists, there’s no room for cynicism. Thanks for that gift, friend.

Hello Adriene, I would love to know, with move, especially, how you arrived at the slightly more challenging practices this year, right from the start ? What promoted you to see that we needed a slightly tougher approach this time? I’m loving it, so thank you. Certainly feeling the richness. This is just where my curiosity went!

I was really thriller with this 30days but out of nowhere my shoulder hurts, so I'm taking it easy. Maybe I ll aim for a 2/3 times yoga practice a week instead. 😌 Thanks for the poem. I felt a bit sad to have to pause the 30days challenge and that for my (although I thought healthy) body even this might be too much 😔

So every time you ask me to breathe, I find I do a mental eye roll and think, "not again!" This is interesting that I have so much resistance to breathing (something consistent with life, right?). But I'm going to continue to explore. "It all starts with the breath." Thank you for what you do Adriene.
