It is my absolute honor and pleasure to introduce you to Rey! A dear friend, collaborator, fellow yogi and Austinite, Rey was one of the first ever guest teachers on FWFG and it is a true gift to continue to have him guide practices here as he has so much depth and tenderness as a teacher and yogi! The man also has range. He can guide you through a meticulous aligned based asana practice, weave mysticism and imagery into your meditation or flow, and is passionate about the full spectrum of yoga and yogic living. I hope you will enjoy Rey’s offerings and feel held by his kindness and what I view as a truly loving invitation to gently inquire beyond the physical realm of yoga.

Love,
Adriene

Rey Cardenas has been teaching yoga since 2011. In 2009 he found his way to the mat seeking a way to manage stress associated with being a professional poker player. Rey is a born and raised Austinite. He is passionate about sharing alignment based practices that affirm both unity and individuality. When he is not leading teacher training, he is spending time with his family, editing videos or studying the work of Rudolf Steiner.

I loved getting to know you a little bit better! I’ve been practicing with you online for a few years now and I think we tend towards this idea of yoga teachers as perfect, almost holly beings, so getting to know your human part is amazing. It’s one of the things I love about FWFG, that we always get to see that human side 💕 of Marnie, of Alia, of Adriene and now of you! I never expected your poker background, my partner was also a professional player for a part of his life and I’m so happy you both found a different, less stressful path. It’s always a pleasure practicing with you and I hope I can travel to Austin soon to practice with you all!

Rey, I feel so blessed, honored and humbled to receive your light and wisdom. To be in your realm is a privilege, a treasured gift I am delighted to have been given! And receive off the mat too! Your journey inspires me too! Thanks for sharing how you came to be such a great teacher! I already left a lengthy feedback on your new foundations of Flying Pigeon :) so I’d try to keep this short. You know what?! With all those hips and shoulders openers :) and all those feel-good contents, I speak my truth openly and freely more so than ever before. Thank you for helping me achieve or regain that! You and all the teachers here make the divine connection more special and accessible! I love how inclusive this space is! I hope for more videos from you, if you’re so inclined. I wish your family well and all the best to all your plans. Thanks for sharing your backstory! Any more updates on the chakras and meditations? No pressure. Just honoring all your efforts to help us all! I’m ever so grateful! Thanks Adriene, Chris and the whole FWFG team! You’re all nothing short of amazing 07/11/24 💚💚💚

Hi Ray,

I always like your Yoga teachings, insights, and practices. Thanks for sharing your story, on love how you made your narrative evolve to that which brings meaning, joy, and ease to your life.

Muchisimas gracias for the insight on the Lord’s prayer. It is one of my morning practices. I will include this opening of energy centers into my morning meditation and prayer time.

For me, find that in Spanish, the Lord's prayer is gentler, or perhaps more accurately, to the Divine power - The Lord does not lead us into temptation - lead us not into - (English) vs Do not let us fall into temptation (Spanish)
