Muladhara is a red 4 petalled Lotus located at the base of the spine. It relates to Safety & Security. The Primary concern of someone abiding from this chakra is sleeping and eating.

One effective way to address issues pertaining to Muladhara is to go to bed when it’s dark and wake up when it’s light, develop a consistent eating schedule, and adorn your home with beautiful things that make you feel grounded and safe. The abundance of trauma informed practices that we see today seek to alleviate issues associated with Muladhara.

In this video, we'll learn about the significance of the color red, the number 4, the earth element, and we'll do a series of actions in the legs that help us feel grounded and supported in our own body.

Hi yall! I want to offer a little disclaimer about esotericism (which is the domain from which I teach the chakras). When something is 'esoteric', it pertains to your personal experience or understanding a spiritual teaching or practice. When talking about these matters, one should not try to get anyone to 'believe' anything. The subject matter is either self-evident, becomes self-evident over time, or it doesn't. I'm grateful that these chats are helpful for so many of you, because this stuff has helped me a great deal as well. If it doesn't land with you, that is okay too :)

When visualising the chakra symbol, is it vertical like a plate facing outwards or horizontal like a plate sitting flat at the base of your spine?

Oh my gosh, this was helpful and so rich in information, Rey. Thank you! It would be interesting to know if you have acquired anymore understandings of this chakra since 2021 and can share it here or in an upcoming video. This is an important chakra for me!

Listened to this twice after the chakra yoga practice. There is so much in this chat to reflect on, learn, and research further. Very inspiring. My intention is to use these chats and the chakra yoga series to embrace a consistent focus on my energy. Today is day 1 of my plan to do this daily for the remaining 6 chakras. What a fabulous journey I have begun today! It is providing an anchor for focus and alignment of my body/mind/spirit. I love this platform.

I particularly enjoyed this session, thanks Ray. I found it easier to relate to with something I could try out at the same time. It would be great to have some recommended reading at the end of this series. Thank you.

This had such a huge impact on my movement. I have historical weakness in my left foot which results in all kinds of problems, but the movements done in this sequence have been transformative just after two days. I am going to keep on coming back to this and enjoy how it continues to change my strength and stability. Thank you!

Just was about to find a good flow for both the root and the crown since a reader said I needed to work on the crown and the root is always in need for me hahaa. Thanks for this talk!

Oh Rey - thank you! So very inspiring. The ease with which you demonstrated such specificity as it relates to this chakra was beautiful! Your body seemed to so calmly move into a very powerful grounding. And your yogi toes are aspirational :) Thank you for sharing! Learning so much from this series.

Thank you, Rey! I had so many lightbulb moments through this lesson. I came into this with a very basic knowledge of the root chakra, and now I feel so inspired to dig even deeper! I'm so looking forward to the rest of the Chakra Chats!
