I would just like to say a huge THANK YOU, to Adriene and the team and also to apologies for the length of this comment, while i explain why. For over twenty five years i have suffered with Fibromyalgia, the main symptoms being chronic fatigue, insomnia, continuous muscle and nerve pain which starts in the toes and stretches through the body and up to the top of the head. Throw in some dizziness, and nausea and you'll be somewhere near getting the picture. As you can imagine, living with Fibro is no barrel of laughs, enter depression. Back in March, i was floored by a really bad Fibro flare up, which saw me off work for five months and unable to even get down the stairs for two months. For a long time, it looked like i was going to be unable to ever return to work. That was until my Doctor suggested that i tried Yoga. Now i'm a 50 year old bloke with the flexibility of a plank of wood, but had nothing to lose. I had tried lots of things over the years, all to no avail, so fully expected this to be the same. My GP sent me a link to one Adriene's beginner videos and from that day, it has honestly changed my life. I have only been practicing for just over three months but for the last six weeks i have been doing about an hour a day. The change in me has been massive, i have just recently returned to work, yes, i still have pain but to the same degree, i still have fatigue, but i can now get through a working day doing a physical job. The main plus though, is my mood, for the first time in years, i feel like my old self again. My humour is back and i laugh a lot. I now spread the word on the various Fibro forums, that i am on, so hopefully others can get some relief too. I joined the FWFG group to give a little thanks back to you for all the help you give in those free Youtube videos. Namaste. xx

Today my dearest Mum took her last breath, such a difficult day 🥲 Each breath I take on the mat today I take for her ❤️

The gratitude I have for the years of unconditional love is immeasurable but grief is so hard on the soul ❤️

Those side planks are really tough on my supporting shoulder and wrist. Any suggestions... perhaps my hand position isn't quite right or maybe I just need to keep building strength?

I lost my senior cat Storm last night. We had to make the hard decision because the vet discovered a tumor that was more than likely cancerous and would further hinder his quality of life as he has chronic breathing issues due to bronchitis he had before being rescued by the organization I adopted him from. That hug at the end was so needed.

These intermediate series are just spectacular- I feel emotionally and physically rewarded for all the sessions I spent in beginner level videos. Feeling strong and feeling deeply worked out and getting to really experience the strength and breath I’ve built is one of the biggest joys for me of this membership.

I couldn’t help but have a big ole smile on my face during today’s practice for two reasons:

1. I’m amazed at how much stronger I have become. Hitting that side plank to wild thing transition used to be so hard, but I did it with (semi)ease today. 🥳

2. Does anyone else remember the clock stretches from the old kids show “The Big Comfy Couch” on PBS? Yeah, I got those vibes with the steeple grip circle stretch and it brought me such joy. 😂

I've done this one before and always thought wild thing was a step too far for me but today I did it and it was easy. I think facing our fears and limitations is important. Sometimes we're fearing things that aren't even scary and limiting our life for no reason.
