My father is dying and I’m feeling anxious and sad. My intentions for this year are acceptance, gratitude and trust in the wisdom of the universe. In today’s practice you said to move your troubles off the mat for a moment and I tried to move my father off the mat but I couldnt. Then I realized I could keep my father on the mat with me and surround myself with his love, and simply move his illness off the mat. It was a beautiful experience. Thank you, Adriene, for creating this space for healing and self love.

Happy New Year everyone. I am coming to the end of 20 years at a company that is closing. I am filled with anticipation and self doubt as a 52 year old woman trying to start again. My three words for this year are Confidence, Patience and Space (to find joy). I need to work on getting my confidence back, have the patience to plan and trust the process (as Adriene says) and to allow myself the space to have joy and adventure in my life - something I put lower on the list of to dos the last 20 years.

It's always hard to come up with resolution-words, because we tend to only choose those nouns and verbs that we see as positive. But this year I would like to allow old hurt to surface and grieve it. As Rumi says, "The hurt we embrace becomes joy/Call it to your arms where it can change". So my words are: Allow, Embrace, (Stay) Playful.

Acceptance, Commitment, and Compassion

3 things that, involuntarily, I am already working on since January 1st, by doctor's orders, I cannot do yoga for a week and there is an aching inside as I’m not able to move with the Kula this week.

Accepting the reality that I can’t. The situation is not mine to control, and reclaim my emotional freedom by Committing to get back on the mat next Tuesday and double down on practices, with self-Compassion.

Grateful for your gentle kindness Adriene & the FWFG Team, for bringing into being this lovely, encouraging, and safe space, and for creating beautiful practices.

Feliz año nuevo, Feliz nueva vuelta al Sol ☀️

I am having hip replacement surgery 2 wks from today. As I sit and think of my 3 words, I choose healing, peace and strength. Unfortunately, because of my hip pain, I’m not able to join and enjoy the Prana series. But it is my goal to practice as soon as I am able to. Thank you, Adriene, for all you & your team do for this community. May you have a happy & blessed New Year! I look forward to getting back on the mat soon!

I am so grateful to have joined the FWFG community for 2025. I have followed on YouTube for a couple of years and felt the calling to join the community. My three words and intentions for this year:

Non-Judgment — of myself and of others. This is difficult for me. What does this mean to me?

For myself: being hypercritical and OVERTHINKING everything I do.

For others: holding past experiences ‘against’ a person and using current situations to help prove or validate a judgment I hold.

Meeting people where they are and where I am!

Courage — do the things that scare me. Open up and share more of myself, cultivate more meaningful relationships. Relearn how to not care what other people think and hold the space to allow me to love and laugh and live. I don’t have to be so serious - I know I have this light that shines and I need to just be comfortable and build my circle learn to forge community and connect.

Time (presence)— taking the time to make quality time with myself and the people I love (my husband, my parents, my soul sister, my friends) year with the people I love a priority. With commitments and activities spending quality time with the people that make my life so special didn’t take priority in 2024. I want to make an intentional decision in changing how that looks and feels in 2025.

I look forward to connecting with you all more

Stay is my word for 2025 - inspired by the fact that every time you say “exhale to stay” it unexpectedly made me cry. 🥲 I think of it as staying in this present moment, not ruminating the past, not worrying about what’s to come.

Listen - to my intuition, not letting overthinking crowd out that voice.

Love - receiving and giving unconditionally.

Stay, listen, love. 🤍

Thank you for having my back, my dear friend, right back at ya. 🙏🏼

oh Adriene, the poem you shared is one of my favorites of all time already, but today it touched me differently and I cried. I am with my son who is medically fragile and has been hospitalized with Covid, and those words of John O'Donohue touched me in a deeper way when you read them out loud. I really want to manifest health for my family, light, love and resilience in 2025. Please keep us in your prayers and well wishes.

I just finally joined fwfg after several years of following along on YouTube - exciting! Three words that come to mind when thinking about the year ahead are nurture, create, and grow 💛
