Part six of Functional Movement with Sumair pulls it all together! Remember what you’ve learned over the last five days and work on functional movements of everyday life, focusing on your walking gait. Begin with a modified bridge pose to raise awareness of different muscle groups and “turn on” your lower body. Then, practice and concentrate on proper walking position and rhythm.

You’ll need two blocks, a bolster, and a blanket for this lesson.

Can you show a picture of how the feet look on the block? Like, are all toes and the ball of the foot on the block?

Third attempt to leave a feedback. Both went kaput as I was about to send it! My practice is working,I am easing more into everything. Hope Sumair’s felt my sense of gratitude all the way to Austin! My walk/hike earlier went really well. After Day 5 lessons learned, automatically applied and proof positively amazing results ! From the ground up, automatically in fine form. As if my mind remembers and my body executed efficiently and eased into the task of moving with precision. It was an amazing experience. From my big toes/mound to the arches of my feet, then ankles, shin bone and calves, knees (wow!), my thighs/hamstrings, hips/sockets, butt tucked, zipper all the way up top of my head! Delightful! I could have walked all day! Such joy! Fine form. Light footed! It all makes perfect sense! Thanks everyone. Lovely gift. No discomfort! Breathing easily. Mind spacious! United! Will send now 💜

Sumair, thank you so much for this series!Working on my feet and akles has been especially hard and a little frustrating since I'm living with cronic pain and ankle restriction after two ankle surgeries on my right ankle in the last 3 years. It feels like your exercises do make a difference! So here's a question: At the end you said that we don't want it to hurt - so shouldn't I have done/ or shouldn't I repeat the walking exercise because it hurt like hell? But besides the pain, I really felt the burn and it felt like I can feel the benefits range of motion wise, even if there's only a little progression. I'm excited to see if I can walk normally tomorrow morning. :D
