Part five of Functional Movement with Sumair focuses on strengthening your forearms and shoulders. Strong forearms take the load off your wrists and allow better plank positions. You will use all the knowledge you’ve gained up to this point in the series, paying attention to proper positioning of your lower body before you begin these exercises. You will probably feel a burn pretty quickly, but remember quality over quantity is the rule here.

You’ll need two blocks and a blanket for a knee pad in this lesson.

Oook. Good. Could not get to wrists on the ground just yet. After a gardening job all day, carpal tunnel going crazy, the floor was just too much. Really good up to then. Thanks!

Ahhhmazing! This truly is a great follow up to yesterday’s session. No wrist pain. More flexibility! Yogi toes, hands and fingers! Strong shoulders. Forearms and muscles! Solid trunk! Nice cues to remember! This just reinforces how great Adriene’s guidance is! Thanks Adriene! I will do today’s yoga practice and see how it goes! With awareness comes grace, strength. Stability, increased stamina, confidence and more ease, thanks Sumair! 🩷🧡💛💚🩵💙💜

I followed this up with Slow your roll. In goal post arms my left wrist usually is off the floor, but that was much better now. Could this be due to the exercises we’ve been doing for the wrists & shoulders?

What do you mean when you say “zipper”? Do you mean a tummy tuck or a kegel or both?

I have issues with my wrists from sitting at a computer for work; this practice was amazing for them! I love how Sumir’s practices have surprised me in how just a little movement with a lot of focus makes a big difference.

Had a wrist injury a few months back that I'm still recovering from. I'm slowing getting back into shape. I was doing gymnastic style training before so its been a long few months without training. I've been eager to learn how to do a planche. Great video to learn the technique and to train my wrists. Thanks Sumair! Loving these videos!
