In part four of Functional Movement with Sumair, we spotlight the spine and work on the movement of each vertebrae. Take your time with this, and your spine will thank you. You will also work on side-to-side flexing and rotation. Learn from Sumair how your arm and hand position can stabilize the laterals and give you more control over your position.

You’ll need two blocks for this lesson.

This one flummoxed me. I could not understand the movements and only felt discomfort in my hands. I love these videos, though, and will try it again soon. Maybe it was just my tired morning brain... I do have a general question about this series: Are these designed to be daily exercises? Weekly? Occasionally? Thank you for all your work on this!!!

I enjoyed the concept of this one…but struggled to get into position. The finger/thumb cues and pickle jar helped a lot. But I am having the worst time arching my back up. So hips / butt out or tucked under or ?? Any other cues or video hints (from your youtube channel!) would help! Thanks ☺️

This video was excellent, so subtle and when I followed those cues really felt effects. Pickle jar, cinch- very clear image guides for me. This is one for me to do regularly. Thank you

I’m finding this series difficult to access/get through - most of the time I feel nothing - in this one hands and wrists were aching in a bad way. Might not be for every body type or learning style, but I’m happy to read that many are benefiting from it.

Really struggled to follow this and what I was supposed to be doing. I tried though!

Hey! Week 2 of repeating the series. Wow, that’s some thumb pain. Can you recommend any other links to vids that describe the same practice? And, I don’t feel my glutes firing, or it’s verrrrry subtle. Thoughts on that?

I found this one a little harder to access. Might be because I don’t have two yoga blocks so didn’t use any just hands on the mat. Wasn’t 100% sure if hands were facing in or not, at the end looked like they were (would really help to have a head on camera angle).

This was probably the hardest session for me due to a wrist issue, also found it quite difficult to follow probably best to watch once first then try again on another day. Can however feel so many areas of my body loosening up, the connections are so interesting 🙏

definitely not an "easy yoga type", but one that needs lots of reflection, analysis, and experimentation.
